LAS VEGAS – The National Center for Credit Unions has announced the recipient of its National Director of the Year Award during the 25th Annual National Directors' Conference & Expo held here. This year's Director of the Year is Dr. John Flynn, treasurer of the Colorado United Credit Union. Flynn helped get the credit union started and began serving on the board 50 years ago. Flynn was recognized for his leadership and putting the interest of the credit union members first while keeping an eye on the future. First and second runner-ups include Joseph Taylor, Northern Star Credit Union chairman and Terry Witzke, Advantage Credit Union chairman respectively. The nationwide contest rewards the top credit union directors with the honorary title of NCCU's Director of the Year. The award is given to the candidate who best exhibits exemplary voluntary service to their credit union and to the credit union movement.
