SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. – The credit union industry has seen its share of live bank vs. CU debates of late, but not an online one – until now. Counter Intelligence Associates (CIA) said it will Webcast a live debate between California CU League President/CEO David Chatfield and Pacific Trust Bank President/CEO Hans Ganz. Pacific Trust was formerly Pacific FCU. It converted to a thrift in 2000. The online debate will be held Nov. 6 from 12:30 to 3:00 PST. There will be a $90 registration fee per organization. Thomas A. Glatt, president of CIA, will moderate the debate. It will also feature attorney Joe Melchione of Styskal, Wiese, Melchione. He will serve as the legal expert. For more information on the debate visit www.cudebate.com. To date, 22 CUs have converted to thrifts, with three currently pending. (see chart). [email protected]
