COVINA, Calif. – Christian Community Credit Union has donated $180,000 in 2002 through its "Cards that Give to Missions & Ministries" credit card program. "This would have never been possible without the support of our members," said CCCU President/CEO John Walling. "We want our members to know that they belong to a credit union that's making a positive difference in people's lives." Every time members make a purchase using their CCCU credit or debit card, CCCU donates a portion of the interchange income to missions and ministries. CCCU distributed this year's donation to the following projects: International Ministries for missionaries in India and Nicaragua; regional missions projects; new church planting; local church ministry projects; college and seminary scholarships; and disaster relief including the American Red Cross 9/11 Fund. With a new Visa Platinum card set to launch this fall, Walling says the donation goal is to give $160,000 in 2003. Since the program began in 1994, total contributions have reached the $1.1 million mark.
