ARLINGTON, Va. – The North Carolina Credit Union Division, after an intensive review by NASCUS' Performance Standards Committee, has been re-accredited as a state credit union supervisory agency. North Carolina was first accredited by NASCUS in 1992 and was the sixth state to do so. It was subsequently re-accredited in 1997. This year's re-accreditation is valid for five years, subject to the approval of annual evaluation update reports that must be submitted to NASCUS and show continued capability and performance consistent with the NASCUS accreditation standards. Twenty-six states in total have earned NASCUS accreditation.
