All eyes are on Nebraska CUs these days, but there aren't many of them to look at. The Midwest state only has 82 credit unions according to NCUA, with total assets of about $2 billion, making it one of the least CU populated states in the country. Over 50 of the 82 CUs are federal charters. The largest CU in the state is Centris FCU, Omaha, with about $300 million in assets.
