Michigan First Credit Union, Southfield, has been presented the Thomas N. Froymmeyer award by the Southfield Parent-Youth Guidance Council. The award is given annually to a corporation or business that has demonstrated outstanding service to the youth of the City of Southfield. MFCU was selected based on its establishment of two elementary school student-run branches, and its newly introduced scholarship program, which awards $500 to graduating high school seniors. Minnesota Credit Union Network, Duluth, has named David Senjem and Linda Givan the Minnesota Outstanding Volunteer of the Year and the Minnesota Outstanding Professional of the Year respectfully. The Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award goes to an individual who best exemplifies the credit union spirit through dedication to and belief in the credit union Movement. The Outstanding Professional of the Year Award is given to recognize the noble service of an individual who has selflessly given time, effort and talent to support and promote the credit union ideal and the betterment of credit unions in Minnesota. Pennsylvania Credit Union League, Harrisburg, has presented its Keystone Award to Rich Lenio, President/CEO of Frick Tri-County FCU. Lenio was recognized for his work with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. The Society's purpose is to provide direct aid to those in need, and to help individuals help themselves. Today the Society includes almost 900,000 members, including over 24 chapters in Pennsylvania. Midwest Financial Credit Union, Ann Arbor, Mich., has awarded member Gillian Anderson a $20,000 new car. Anderson was the lucky winner of a two-month raffle at the credit union. To qualify for the drawing, MidWest members opened certificates or IRAs and received entry tickets based upon dollar value and term. The more they invested the greater their odds of winning. Cabrillo Credit Union, San Diego, Calif., has received a gold and silver award from the Marketing Association of Credit Unions. Cabrillo CU received the gold award for its newly re-designed newsletter and received the silver award for its segmented marketing campaign in the assets less than $100 million category. Since 1995 CCU has received a total of 14 MAC awards. Wisconsin Credit Union League, Pewaukee, Wis., has named Manitowoc Community Credit Union Chairman Norb Carollo, Volunteer of the Year. Carollo has been recognized for his unique blend of leadership and professionalism. Carollo was chosen as Volunteer of the Year through a nomination process and judged by credit union professionals in other states.
