HARRISBURG, Pa. – Governor Mark Schweiker nominated Frances Bedekovic, who is currently serving as the Deputy Secretary for Depository Financial Institutions, to be Secretary of the Department of Banking, effective June 5. Bedekovic replaces James Kauffman Jr., who resigned from the Banking Secretary's position to become Vice President of Compliance for Household International in Chicago. Pending her confirmation by the state Senate, Bedekovic is Acting Secretary.
