OKLAHOMA CITY – Credit union technology integrator, RG2 Solutions, Inc., has launched fingerprint verification software to help prevent identity fraud. Utilizing biometric technology, the software will register and store a template of the member's fingerprint using a finger scanner. Once registered, the finger will be scanned again and compared during the transaction or verification process to determine if a match is made with the template on file. "Identity theft and fraud has become a real concern to both consumers and credit unions. With this system you can positively identify your members, basically eliminating identity fraud at the teller counter or safe deposit box area," said Roger Grant, RG2 Solutions, Inc. president. "With the hardware and software costs for biometrics dropping the last two years, any credit union can now afford to utilize this technology. " The fingerprint verification software can be installed as a stand-alone system, or depending on the capabilities of their system, can be integrated with the credit union's core processing system, according to RG2.
