ROCHESTER, Minn. – In a growing trend among CUs, IBM Mid America Employees FCU is the latest CU to offer members daily e-notices of account status. Member receive such notices as line-of-credit advance notices; NSF notices; account balance thresholds; and others. "The new service will not only reduce the credit union's operating costs by avoiding postage and production mailing costs, members also receive better service because they no longer have to wait to receive this kind of information by mail," said Paul Kundert, the CU's President and COO. This is the second major paper-cutting move the CU has made this year. It began offering e-statements earlier this spring, and 2,000 members joined within a few weeks. The $920 million CU serves 84,000 members.
