<p>Ent Federal Credit Union, Colorado Springs, Colo., has raised $38,000 for the American Cancer Society during the Relay for Life. Over the past four years Ent FCU has contributed more than $126,000, which represents 20% of all donations raised for the event. Money raised through the event goes directly to fund cancer research, maintain a 24-hour toll free phone line and Web site, and to provide local patient services. The Golden 1 Credit Union, Sacramento, Calif., has donated $108,000 to two charities. The annual United Way campaign brought in over $79,000 through payroll deduction and various fund-raising events. In addition, a check was presented to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund in excess of $29,000.00. Truliant Federal Credit Union, Winston-Salem, N.C., has helped raise more than $1.5 million for the American Cancer Society during the Relay for Life. In its eighth year of participation, Truliant turned out more than 200 participants in six relays in Virginia and North Carolina. In all, Truliant teams contributed more than $21,500. In addition to Relay participation and corporate sponsorship, several Truliant staff members serve on planning committees and work to encourage sponsorships through some of TFCU Business Partners. US Federal Credit Union, Burnsville, Minn., has raised over $5,500 for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, during an MS Walk fundraiser. Up to 22 employees participated in the event. In addition, USFCU has set a new record donation for Minnesota FoodShare, an interfaith collaboration that seeks to end hunger through community action. Over $4,200 in cash and over 750 pounds of food donations was raised during a one-month period. The credit union has surpassed its goal by 70%. Security Service Federal Credit Union, San Antonio, Texas, has donated eleven of its excess computers to several San Antonio area small credit unions. The $2.1 billion credit union serves 436,441 members. Robins Federal Credit Union, Warner Robins, Ga., has pledged more than $8,700 to Deduct-A-Buck. This year's amount pledged beats the 2001 total contribution by almost $4,000. Deduct-A-Buck is a program that helps raise money for the Credit Union Legislative Action Committee and the Credit Union Political Action Committee. The contributions made to these two committees help to elect and re-elect officials that support Robins Federal Credit Union as well as other credit unions across the United States. Over 225 employees contribute to the program by deducting a minimum of $1.00 each pay period. One of the incentives for the employees is being able to wear jeans on specified Fridays and Saturdays. Charlotte Metro Credit Union, N.C., and Overflow Printing have joined forces to donate 20,000 bi-lingual multiplication tables to Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. Tables have been provided to the 3rd and 4th grade teachers for the 2002 – 2003 school year and will be included in their "Prepare for Greatness in the Year Ahead" kit that elementary teachers will be receiving this summer. Approximately 300 elementary schools will be receiving the multiplication tables. South Jersey Federal Credit Union, Camden, has sponsored a South Jersey Baron's DARE School Day Game against the Long Island Rough Riders. Over 500 students and teachers from the Camden Schools were on hand to watch as the Barons, South Jersey's professional men's soccer team, lead the match that ended in a 2-2 tie after two overtime period. During halftime 10 students randomly selected had the opportunity to compete for prizes including a gift certificate to a local sporting goods store. SJFCU has been been actively involved with school children in the city of Camden and surrounding areas for many years.</p>
