RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. – Nine credit unions located in Northern Nevada, including two headquartered in Las Vegas that have branches in Reno, have launched a public awareness campaign on television and radio using the national credit union brand "Pubic Education" and "Comfort Zone" spots. The nine CUs are: E.W. 401, Elko FCU, Great Basin FCU, Greater Nevada CU, Nevada FCU, Sierra Schools CU, SP Sparks Employees FCU, Washoe CU, and Westar CU. The cooperative advertising campaign will air through the end of 2002. At the end of the campaign the California Credit Union League, which manages the Nevada League, will conduct a "post-test" survey of public awareness of CUs among Northern Nevada residents. The results will be compared to a "pre-test" survey that was done in August 2000 in the Reno area.
