RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. – In an effort to assist credit unions in better serving members, the California Credit Union League's Diversity Committee produced an English-Spanish/Spanish-English glossary of financial terminology. The league also produced an orientation and training video on diversity. The 10-minute video, "Diversity is Good Business" was created by MyDAS Marketing Inc., Boulder City, Nev., with a grant from the Richard Myles Johnson Foundation. It gives an overview of various types of diversity including ethnic, gender and socioeconomic, and provides statistical information about diversity in California and Nevada. The Glossary of Financial Terminology was first published in 1999, but it only translated terms from English to Spanish. The new, revised glossary translates more than 1,000 business and financial terms from English to Spanish, and from Spanish to English. The glossary was compiled and translated by Letty Cordon, CCUL's CU development coordinator who is fluent in both languages.
