<p>WASHINGTON-Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill announced that Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Financial Institutions Sheila Bair plans to leave the department in mid-June 2002. Bair will join the University of Massachusetts-Amherst's Center for Public Policy and Administration as a professor of Practice in Public Policy. She will teach and conduct research on financial services issues, including the expansion of financial services to low- and moderate-income areas. Secretary O'Neill commended Bair's service.</p>
