<p>HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Pennsylvania Senate Committee on Banking and Insurance in a unanimous 14-0 roll-call vote, passed the State Credit Union Parity Bill, S. 1222, sponsored by state Sen. Stewart Greenleaf (R-12) who urged the Committee to pass the bill. Greenleaf's motion was seconded by state Sen. Jake Corman (R-34). The Pennsylvania Credit Union League said S. 1222 has bi-partisan support. Still, because the league is faced with a short legislative calendar because of reapportionment and the fact that this is an election year, League Vice President of Governmental Affairs Jan Hartman said the league has to keep the momentum behind the Parity Bill and pass the Senate as soon as it can. The league is urging affiliated credit unions to write to their state Senators urging passage of S. 1222.</p>
