ARLINGTON, Va.-NAFCU has named Debbie Kwon-Moore its new Associate Director of Legislative Affairs following the promotion of Brad Thaler to director of the department earlier this year. "We are delighted to bring someone with Debbie's hands on legislative experience aboard," Thaler said. "Debbie spent five years on Capitol Hill immersed in the legislative process, and that day-to-day experience with the inner workings of Congress will serve her well in advancing credit union issues." Kwon-Moore is charged with establishing and maintaining relations with members of Congress and their staff to promote the trade association's legislative goals and initiatives. She will also monitor federal legislation and congressional activities, as well as provide legislative research and analysis. Prior to joining NAFCU, Kwon-Moore spent five years in House Financial Services Committee Member Steven LaTourette's (R-Ohio) office. She joined LaTourette's staff as an assistant and was promoted to senior legislative assistant. Kwon-Moore managed the legislative staff and coordinating a wide array of daily legislative activities from vote recommendations to liaison work with the House Financial Services Committee. Kwon-Moore has a bachelor's degree in advertising and public relations from Emerson College in Boston.
