PORTLAND, Ore. – In a sign that corporates are going to take a lead role in helping CUs serve businesses, Northwest Corporate Credit Union has teamed with First Merchants Bancard Services to provide a merchant bankcard program for credit unions. This new program allows members of credit unions of all sizes to grow their business by accepting credit cards. According to Northwest Corporate, credit unions which offer the merchant bankcard services have no sign up fees or ongoing costs for this program, receive a percentage of the net profits, and released from all transaction liability.
