<p>Wright-Patt Credit Union, Fairborn, Ohio, has raised $77,466.65 for the United Way September 11th Fund during its Stars & Stripes Recovery Fund. Funds will be used to respond to the immediate and longer-term needs of victims, their families and the communities affected by the events of September 11. Georgia Federal Credit Union, Atlanta, has teamed up with the Georgia Early Learning Initiative, and the Georgia Coalition to End Homelessness to sponsor the "Books for Children" program at Cross Keys High School. The students donated a record 200 books to promote literacy. The "Books for Children" effort is a statewide program designed to provide children with their own new books, particularly those who might not otherwise be able to have books, primarily due to financial hardships. All donated books will be given to GELI-state licensed daycare centers and homeless shelters through the Georgia Coalition to End Homelessness.</p>
