LAKELAND, Fla. – Lakeland Medical Employees Federal Credit Union is the latest credit union to become a member of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta. As a member, the $14 million credit union will have access to another source of low-cost funds for home financing and community development. In addition, LMEFCU will be eligible to use the credit and correspondent banking services of FHLB of Atlanta. Congress expanded eligibility for membership in the FHLB system to include commercial banks and credit unions in addition to thrift institutions.
