WASHINGTON – The Hill, a weekly newspaper covering Congress, has named CUNA SVP of Governmental Affairs John McKechnie as one of the top association lobbyists. In a special section called "The Rainmakers", the newspaper listed McKechnie in its listing of "Top Association Lobbyists." The ranking was in no particular order. McKechnie was the only representative from a credit union trade association to make the list. The American Bankers Association's Ed Yingling also made the list. The list included representatives from a wide variety of associations, ranging from the National Beer Wholesalers Association, to the National Rifle Association. Lee Verstandig, from the National Association of Realtors, also made the list. Realtors are currently in a battle with banks about banks getting into the agent side of the real estate business.
