LATHAM, N.Y. – The New York Credit Union Foundation has extended the deadline for filing applications for assistance from the foundation's Disaster Relief Fund. All applications for funds on behalf of those who lost a family member who belonged to a credit union must now be postmarked by May 31. The deadline for donations to the fund, which has raised nearly $1.3 million, is still March 31. The family of any credit union member from any state or country who was lost in the 9-11 disaster, including those in airplanes that were flown into the World Trade Center towers, the Pentagon or a Pennsylvania field, may be eligible for a $1,000 payment from the fund.
