<p>Ohio Credit Union League, Dublin, has announced that the Summit Chapter has raised $14,234.99 for the Warm the Soles of Kids program. The program supplies new shoes for needy children. Shoes are distributed through the Red Cross, Salvation Army, United Way agencies and school counselors. One hundred percent of the money raised is used to purchase shoes. In addition to the funds raised the Summit Chapter also donated 129 pairs of new shoes to the kids. Nazarene Credit Union, Brea, Calif., has raised $6,000 for the Children's Miracle Network. Employees held several creative fundraising events throughout the year for CMN. The Children's Miracle Network is an international non-profit organization dedicated to helping children by raising funds and awareness for 170 children's hospitals throughout North America. Each year these non-profit hospitals treat more than 14 million children afflicted with diseases, injuries and birth defects of every kind. American First Federal Credit Union, La Habra,Calif. has held a coloring contest in which three advanced placement art students form Buena Park High School were judges. Student judges Archita Patel, Kang Hur and Abraham Lopez reviewed more than 175 entries. The contest is designed to develop the students' objective and critical perspective, which will help improve their own artwork. AFCU awarded each judge a $100 American Express Gift Cheque and donated $500 to the high school's art program. The AFCU contribution will be used to fund field trips to local art museums and provide scholarships for students who plan to continue their art studies beyond high school. California Credit Union League, Rancho Cucamonga, has announced that the Wine Country Chapter has raised $1,200 for the Children's Miracle Network. To raise funds, the Chapter held a Wine Tasting Event at three Sonoma County wineries. The Wine Country chapter is comprised of credit unions from Sonoma, Marin, Mendocino and Lake counties.</p>
