<p>Texas Credit Union League, Dallas, has presented Credit Union Strategic Development League Representative Val Atkins the "Consultant of the Year Award." Atkins earned the award for her dedication and commitment to the League and the credit unions she serves. Atkins serves as the liaison for the Committee for Small Credit Unions and provides content input for the quarterly "Horizon" newsletter – a publication dedicated to small credit union issues. She is a Credit Union Development Educator and graduate of Southwest CUNA Management School. Robins Federal Credit Union, Warner Robins, Ga., Vice President of Human Resources Barbara Siegfried has earned certification as a senior professional in Human Resources. In addition, Human Resources Manager Tracey Harrelson has earned a certification as a professional in Human Resources. The Human Resource Certification Institute awards two levels of certification and to become certified, applicants must pass a comprehensive examination and demonstrate a strong background of professional human resource experience. Royal Credit Union, Eau Claire, Wis., has been presented the 2001 Paragon Award by the Eau Claire Area Economic Development Corporation. The Paragon Award is presented to an area business that is recognized as a model of excellence in the economic development of the community. This is the ECAEDC's first year for the program. Designed by the ECAEDC Business Committee the award program is part of an effort to increase community awareness of the quality businesses located in the Chippewa Valley. The award, which is red, white and blue stained glass molded into the shape of an eagle, was created and designed by local artist Laurie Bieze. Central Florida Educators' Federal Credit Union, Orlando, has recognized three employees for their outstanding performance and dedication to member service. Assistant Manager Brandy Owens has been named the "Employee of the Year" for 2001; Assistant Vice President/ Branch Manager Micki Ruiz has been named "Manager of the Quarter" for the fourth quarter of 2001; and Assistant Vice President/Branch Manager Anne Musto has not only been named "Manager of the Quarter" for the third quarter of 2001 but also "Manager of the Year" for 2001.</p>
