VIENNA, Va. – Navy Federal Credit Union has upped the ante when it comes to verifying its members identity. Members simply swipe their ATM or check cards and enter their personal identification numbers directly at the teller window. "This has been an extremely smooth implementation process," said Navy FCU Vice President of Projects Carol Shapiro. "We are very pleased with their performance and our members and tellers appreciate the speed and convenience." Although Navy Federal CU has no immediate plans to do so, the PINPads can also capture information from the magnetic stripe on a driver's license or other identification card. Over 550 MagTek IntelliPINs have been installed at nearly all of the $15 billion credit union's 93 Member Service Centers. Navy Federal CU serves over 2.1 million members.
