<p>WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – Low-income, first-time mothers in Contra Costa County will be leaving the hospital with more than just their babies. Pacific Service Credit Union has partnered with the Child Abuse Prevention Council and the Low Income Families Newborn Connection Program to provide them canvas tote bags filled with useful educational information. Topics covered include health/wellness, childcare resources and general information to help the new mothers. Pacific Service CU has donated over $7,000 to fill the 1,000 canvas bags. "We are proud to take part in an educational program for first-time mothers," said Pacific Service CU President/CEO Tom Smigielski. "Our goal is to positively impact the lives of both the families and the children of our community."</p>
