ARLINGTON, Va. – NASCUS is eager to discuss dual-chartering and other pertinent issues with the newest members of the NCUA Board, JoAnn Johnson and Deborah Matz. NASCUS sent a letter to Johnson and Matz inviting them to meet with NASCUS leadership during CUNA’s upcoming GAC in February. “We are very eager to begin working with Senator Johnson and Ms. Matz and develop long-lasting working relationships with each of them as they assume these vital roles,” said NASCUS President Doug Duerr. Former NASCUS Chairman Jim Forney, superintendent of Credit Unions in Iowa was particularly pleased by Johnson’s ascension from the State Senate of their home state to the NCUA Board. “I have a history of working closely with Senator Johnson on issues vital to NASCUS and the credit union movement. It is with great confidence that I can say we are very fortunate to have someone with Senator Johnson’s ability and congeniality moving into a national leadership role.”
