<p>RICHMOND, Va. – DuPont Community CU, Waynesboro, Va. filed an application with the State Corporation Commission of the Bureau of Financial Institutions to expand its community field-of-membership that would increase the credit union's potential membership from about 109,000 to a total population estimate of 258,789. Specifically, the $324 million CU requested to be able to include in its FOM persons who "live, work, worship, or attend school in, and businesses and other legal entities located in August, Bath, Highland, Rockbridge, and Rockingham Counties, Va., and the independent Cities of Buena Vista, Lexington, Harrisonburg, Staunton, and Waynesboro, otherwise known as the counties and independent cities that make up the Central Shenandoah Valley Region." DuPont Community CU currently has more than 35,000 members.</p>
