SALT LAKE CITY – Plenty of credit unions have had big kick-offs and celebrations to show off their new Web site or Internet banking system, but Mountain America here did it for its new intranet site, MACUNOW. The CU threw an all day launching party complete with food and refreshments to introduce staff to the new intranet. Even the CU's 31 branches were part of the launching party. Last year the CU's intranet committee decided it was time to update the intranet. The new intranet site now includes a document center, employee center, calendar, FAQs, an online help desk, an e-commerce component and other features. The CU's leadership said employees save time by referencing the site for information rather than calling a department, and by sending faxes via the site rather than doing it manually.
