VIENNA, Va. – Just one month after launching its new platinum card, Navy Federal Credit Union has already reached over one-third of its 12-month projection with 5,200 accounts. According to NFCU Credit Cards Vice President Tom Steele, with over 769,000 accounts it its consumer credit card portfolio, totaling over $1.2 billion in outstanding balances, the new platinum card was introduced to serve a certain segment and round out the overall credit card offerings. The $14 billion credit union's new platinum card has no annual fee, a credit line up to $50,000 and is available in six different designs. "Not only is it a good product, I think it's the valuable additional services that is attracting members to Navy Federal's Platinum card," said Steele. One of the more exclusive privileges is VIPdesk concierge assistance for locating and obtaining quality merchandise, practical services and useful information. Platinum cardholders also have access to a personal assistant who will help book reservations, purchase gifts, research travel destinations, schedule household services or even rent a car.
