WASHINGTON – ATM National LLC has announced it will introduce in early 2002 the first new nationwide ATM network in over 20 years. The network will offer its members and their customers' surcharge-free transactions and deposit sharing at more than 30,000 ATMs across the country. According to ATM National President Ben Psillas, the network would not require member financial institutions to install new software on the machines. With the card's bank identification number, it would automatically route a transaction through to the ATM National network. Card-issuing members will pay a flat monthly fee to provide their customers with access to ATM National's products and services surcharge-free. ATM National has also formed a strategic alliance with Diebold, Incorporated, and EDS.
