SANTA ANA, Calif. – Orange County Teachers Federal Credit Union has extended provisions of the Soldier and Sailor Civil Relief Act for its members. Recognizing that relief provisions under SSCRA may not be sufficient for some members to meet their current loan obligations, eligible members will now be offered reduced interest rates, payments and deferments or other modifications on their OCTFCU loans. "We are honored to provide support to our members and team members who are serving our nation in the military," said OCTFCU President/CEO Rudy Hanley. "We're glad that we are able to give something back to them." The SSCRA was enacted in 1940 to assist individuals who have been ordered to or have volunteered for, active military service by reducing payments on obligations incurred prior to service. Provided on a case-by-case basis, already 22 members have been helped by the OCTFCU enhancement.
