Burton was the first Hoosier, and the sixth Congressman to cosponsor H.R. 1151. Box Eklder Credit Union, Salt Lake City, has announced that Branch Manager Maury Bergman and State Rep. Eli Anderson (D-1) rode atop a wagon bearing the “Hometown Credit Union” logo during the Days of ’47 Parade. Commemorating the entry of pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley in 1847, the parade is one of the largest in the nation. The fictitious “Hometown CU” sparked controversy earlier this year in ads where the credit union remained the same while the bank next door frequently changed names.
