E & A Credit Union, Marysville, Mich., has for the first time been recognized in two categories in The Buyer’s Guide’s “Best of the Best” Awards. E&A CU has been named not only Best Bank but also Best Financial/Investment Broker. A Buyer’s Guide reader poll helped the $150 million credit union make its debut on this year’s list. E& A CU serves 35,092 members. Community Credit Union, Plano, Texas, has been recognized by the Dallas Business Journal as the 25th Largest Dallas Metroplex Call Center. Companies recognized in the Dallas Business Journal were selected based on their number of employees and calls made and received. Staffed by more than 100 employees, the call center handles over 51,000 incoming calls and 15,000 outgoing calls monthly with an abandon rate of less than three percent. CCU serves more than 160,000 members. Portland Teachers Credit Union, Ore., has been named one of the “100 Best Companies to Work for in Oregon” based on a survey conducted by Oregon Business Magazine. This year PTCU was ranked 10th among large companies on the list of 100 moving up from its 61st place in 2000. PTCU serves more than 134,000 members. Air Academy Federal Credit Union, Colorado Springs, Colo., has been recognized as one of the “Best Companies for Working Families in Colorado”. Companies were evaluated on flexible work arrangements, family/childcare assistance and support, health care benefits, economic security, community involvement, management training and support of work/life issues. AAFCU employs 130 employees. Washington School Employees Credit Union, Seattle, has celebrated its 65th anniversary. WSECU festivities included a 6.5% auto loan promotion, monthly $650 savings bond giveaways and a grand prize drawing of $6,500. WSECU serves over 66,000 members and has over $385 million in assets. Pacific Community Credit Union, Fullerton, Calif., has reached over $100 million in assets. Plans are underway to attract new members by placing an emphasis on providing high-level quality service and competitively priced products. PCCU serves 14,573 members.
