NEW YORK – The New York Credit Union League has set up a command center in Manhattan to provide on-the-spot assistance to CUs affected by last week's terrorist attack. "We have two important missions to carry out right now," said NYCUL President/CEO Bill Mellin. "We are a conduit of information, keeping channels open with credit unions, regulators, corporates, and other components of the CU system. And we also need League employees at the scene who can pinpoint exactly the aid that will enable credit unions to return full service status for their members." Located in space provided by Progressive Credit Union at its main office at 370 7th Avenue, the command center is staffed by league strategic management consultants. Command center staff will help damaged credit unions submit applications for assistance from the Foundation and help credit unions get back on track.
