Associated Credit Union, Dear Park, Texas, has received the "Best of Texas Award" from the Texas Career & Technology Council of Texas. The award recognizes ACU's establishment of a credit union branch in the high school and introduction of the NEFE curriculum into the classroom. Each year ACU hired a group of Junior and Senior Co-op students to work in the ACU Student Financial Center. Students are cross-trained in all areas so that they may offer peer-to-peer counseling to both students and faculty. Charter Oak Federal Credit Union, Groton, Conn., has honored two individuals with the Charter Oak Community Outreach Award. Former Senior patrolman William F. Hart and Charter Oak employee Maria Tuneski have both been recognized for their leadership and dedication to their community. COFCU has $353 million in assets. Seven Seventeen Credit Union, Warren, Ohio, has received the grand prize design award by the National Association of Store Fixture Manufacturers in the service provider division. The NASFM awards criteria were based on the successful integration of technology, service and comfort into well-branded store designs. Columbus-based Retail Design Group accepted the award for SSCU's Austintown branch. PWCampbell, a design/build firm, has received a certificate of recognition from the Charleston Renaissance Corporation for its revitalization efforts in the Charleston, West Virginia area. PWCampbell constructed a new main office for Members Choice WV Federal Credit Union in Charleston. The 5,100 square-foot facility has three drive-up lanes, an automated teller machine and two private loan offices. OmniAmerican Federal Credit Union, Fort Worth, Texas, Polytechnic Heights office has been recognized as the Office of the Year. The Office of the Year Award is based on operational productivity goals including the number of new members, checking accounts opened, money market accounts opened and dollar amount of core deposits and number of referrals to its brokerage firm. The Polytechnic branch averaged 99% attainment level of all goals. Vandenberg Federal Credit Union, Vandenberg Village, Calif., President/CEO Diana Dykstra has received the James D. Likens Alumni Recognition award at the Western Credit Union National Association CUNA Management School graduation. Dykstra was selected based on her professional career growth and significant achievement and service in the credit union industry. Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union, St. Paul, Minn., Corporate Development Senior Vice President Louise Jalma has been named one of Minneapolis/St. Paul's "25 Most Innovative Women" by CityBusiness. Women honored were chosen for their innovation and achievements in areas such as leadership, technology and creativity. Jalma was selected for her pioneering role in professional services marketing and was one of five recognized under the professional accomplishments category: demonstrating success as a member of a corporate team. Affinity Plus FCU has more than $610 million in assets and serves more than 98,000 members.
