WILTON, Conn. – Mutual Security FCU, the sixth largest federal credit union in Connecticut, was approved by the office of the State Banking Commissioner to convert to a state charter. The name of the credit union will be Mutual Security Credit Union. MSCU has $100.8 million in assets and serves more than 20,000 members. Its field-of-membership includes persons who live, work, attend school or worship in Fairfield County and Litchfield County, as well as businesses, organizations and associations in the counties and their immediate family members. Mutual Security’s charter conversion means the state has 50 state-chartered CUs, 142 FCUs, and seven out-of-state CUs with branches in Connecticut. [email protected]
