PHOENIX – After providing settlement and back office services for the Arizona Credit Union League Services Corp.'s member share draft program for almost 10 years, FirstCorp has taken the next step and acquired the program. As part of acquisition plan, the corporate credit union is planning to add image technology so ACUL-affiliated credit unions and their members can access check images. Credit union personnel will have access to cleared check images by August via FirstCorp's Web site. Members will have access to the images by the end of the year through their credit union's home banking product. Until now, FirstCorp has been storing copies of members' cleared checks on microfiche. That technology is outdated, said FirstCorp President/CEO Pete Pritts. "It's slowed down our ability to research and access copies of members' checks and has ultimately hurt member services for credit unions. Imaging will allow the credit unions instant access." FirstCorp clears about 4 million items a month on the checking side and an additional one million a month on the deposit side. – [email protected]
