MADISON, Wis. -The National Credit Union Foundation has donated $10,000 to the Texas Credit Union Foundation's disaster relief fund to aid cleanup from the flooding caused by Tropical Storm Allison. The Texas Credit Union Foundation is currently holding a national fundraising campaign to help Houston victims of the flooding. "Credit unions are about people helping people, and in times of disaster we really need to put that philosophy into practice," said Pat Brownell, Executive Director of NCUF. "It is our hope that credit unions around the country will join us in coming to the aid of our credit union family in Houston." Twenty-four credit unions were damaged as a result of flooding caused by Allison. Donations can be sent to the Texas Credit Union Foundation (Houston Flood Relief) 4455 LBJ Freeway – 9th Floor, Farmers Branch, Texas 75244-4998.
