Nearly 80% of more than 2,100 people who responded to an onlinepoll admitted that their personal finances keep them awake atnight, according to the National Foundation of Credit Counseling in Washington.

The NFCC's Financial Literacy Opinion Index posted on itswebsite, debadvice.org, throughout July was answered by 2,148individuals. The index, however, is not a scientific survey, NFCCsaid.

Interestingly, when respondents were asked “What keeps you up atnight?” 13% said, “Nothing, I sleep like a baby,” which was thesecond highest number of responses, according to NFCC.

Only 4% of respondents said job security kept them up at nightand only 2% said marital concerns and problems with children leftthem sleepless.

The 2014 NFCC Financial Literacy Survey also revealed that 71%of consumers, or roughly 179 million people, admitted to havingpersonal finance worries with not enough savings, job issues, debt,and credit topping the list. That survey was conducted in March byHarris Poll among 2,016 Americans aged 18 and older.
