CU Solutions Group has teamed up with wireless carrier Sprintand mobile resource management provider Spireon's AutomotiveSolutions Group to help credit unions grow their auto loanportfolios even more.

Through the alliance, the Livonia, Mich.-based CUSG, owned by the Michigan Credit Union League &Affiliates, has added Spireon's LoanPlus collateral managementsystem.

The CMS platform aims to help credit unions capture real-timedata about their automotive collateral's location, movement andstatus, then leverage this data to improve member services,collateral management and collections, according to the threepartners.

The latest generation of LoanPlus CMS runs on the Sprint 3Gnationwide network. CUSG and Spireon introduced LoanPlus CMS on theSprint Now Network and the platform is available to credit unionsexclusively through the CUSO.

In January, the platform was also recognized as “Best AutomotiveCollateral Management Platform” in the M2M category during the 2014Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, according to thepartners.

“With this new affiliation, CUSG can expand our offerings forcredit unions to help them grow their auto lending business andbetter serve their members,” said Dave Adams, CEO of CUSG, which provides marketing, technology,membership enhancements, performance management and lending &insurance to credit unions.

Sprint played a key role in facilitating the three-way alliancethat aims to increase a credit union's ability to lend in thenon-prime auto loan market, according to the partners. The company saidit served more than 55 million customers at the end of 2013.

The LoanPlus CMS received an overwhelming response at CUNA'sGovernmental Affairs Conference in Washington last month, saidDavid Meyer, executive vice president of Spireon's AutomotiveSolutions Group.
