The Credit Union League of Connecticut's board of directorsappointed Jill Nowacki Tuesday as the new president/CEO of CULC,replacing Tony Emerson who was named the president/CEO of the $495million IC Federal Credit Union in Fitchburg, Mass., in April.

Nowacki was named as one of Credit Union Times Women to Watch inApril 2012.

Nowacki launched her career in the credit union industry inMontana more than 10 years ago at the Montana Credit Union Networkin Helena where she worked in the marketing and communicationsfield. She also served as CUNA's executive director of Credit UnionHouse where she doubled annual contributors and revenue by hersecond year, according to a CULC statement.

Nowacki also worked as vice president of development at the $467million Marion and Polk Schools Credit Union in Salem, Ore. Shealso served as executive director of Maps Community Foundation,said CULC in its prepared statement.

“Under her leadership we believe the Connecticut Credit Union League will remain a valuable resourcefor Connecticut credit unions for many years,” Michael Hinchey, aboard member who chaired the national search committee, said in aprepared statement. 'We have great confidence that Jill willcontinue to produce outstanding service to our members as well asguiding the league and the Connecticut credit union community tonew heights and a successful future.”

“I love that I get to be part of an organization with a solepurpose that is essentially helping others be successful,” Nowackisaid in a prepared statement. “That feels like a perfect fit tome.”

Nowacki also said that she was motivated to apply for theleague's president/CEO position because of her commitment tophilanthropy.

“The incredible progress made in Connecticut with reality fairs(which promotes financial literacy) is inspiring” said Nowacki.“This level of commitment to community outreach and education makesme confident I would be a good cultural fit with Connecticut'scredit unions.”
