To further strengthen its presence in the community and tosupport local businesses, the $278 million E&A Credit Union inPort Huron, Mich., is hosting a Facebook contest that will award a free ad on the creditunion's website to three local companies.

To participate, Facebook friends of the 33,000-memberinstitution can enter their favorite business by posting thecompany's name and website on E&A's Facebookpage by Sept. 15.

Voting will take place from Sept. 16 to Sept. 27. To vote for abusiness, the credit union's Facebook friends can click the “like”button under their favorite business post or share the post ontheir own Facebook pages.

Winners will be selected, based on the top three posts with themost “likes” and “shares” by noon on Sept. 27. In the event of atie, the business posted first will prevail.

After the voting period expires, the top three businesses willreceive a free banner ad on E&A's website during thesedates:

  • 1st Place: Oct. 6 to Oct. 26.
  • 2nd Place: Oct. 27 to Nov. 9.
  • 3rd Place: Nov. 10 to Nov. 6.

E&A's marketing department will help the winning businessesdevelop their ads. As an added bonus, any business that opens achecking account during the contest period will be offered a setnumber of impressions on E&A's website.

“The website gets over 100,000 visitors per month, so it will begreat exposure for any small business in the area, and we areexcited and pleased to be a part of it,” said Jenny Bulgrien,E&A's marketing manager.
