The $24 million, 2,400-member Allied Plastics Federal Credit Union in Baton Rouge, La., has committed to the Sharetec core processing platform from Data Systems of Texas, the company and credit union said.

"We wanted a relationship with a core processor that could deliver the technology we need not just today but into the future. Through multiple site visits, reference calls and a detailed demonstration we felt very comfortable choosing a relationship with Sharetec," Cindy Lee, president of Allied Plastics FCU, said in the announcement.

Allied Plastics FCU also will use home banking from Sharetec, the announcement said. The 42-year-old credit union – which serves employees at chemical plants and other industries in the Baton Rouge area – currently runs on the Fiserv DataSafe core processing and CUSA home banking solutions, according to data from Callahan & Associates.
