The $918 million Hiway Federal Credit Union in St. Paul saidthis week that Dave Boden, its current vice president of technologyand chief information officer, will be the Minnesota credit union'snew CEO.

Boden will succeed Jeff Schwalen, who plans to retire in Octoberafter 23 years at the 60,400-member Hiway, the credit unionannounced Tuesday.

Boden became vice president of technology at Hiway 10 years ago and has 25 years of experience infinancial services. His experience includes leadership in areassuch as IT, card services, facilities management, telleroperations, electronic service delivery, business continuity andstrategic planning and security.

“Dave is well prepared to lead the organization,” said Hiway FCUBoard Chair Pam Tschida. “He has demonstrated strong leadershipskills and has an excellent working relationship with themanagement and staff. Dave fully embraces our core values andmission and is focused on optimizing the member experience atHiway.”

Boden also has been active in political affairs with theMinnesota Credit Union Network, and serves on the CIO AdvisoryBoard for Fiserv XP2 core platform users and on the TechnologyCouncil at PM Systems, Hiway's online banking servicesprovider.

Boden said, “Hiway has long exemplified the credit unionmission, focusing on community involvement and helping our membersby offering them an outstanding array of products and services,great rates and truly personal service.

He added, “I would like to thank Jeff for his years of serviceto the credit union and its members, and for his mentorship andsupport since I started with Hiway. He's been a friend and I wishhim well in his retirement.”
