The Tacoma, Wash.-based grant writing firm CUStrategic Planning has named Northwest Credit UnionAssociation Senior Vice President and General Counsel Stacy Augustine to the position of president.

Augustine, who once managed CUSP founder Jamie Chase when thetwo worked at the Washington Credit Union League, will overseedaily operations, implement new products and pursue new prospects.Additionally, Augustine will add CEO to her title in 2014, CUSPsaid.

“Ask anyone, I'm a hard-to-manage visionary,” Chase said in arelease. “(Augustine is) strategic, tactical and manages people togets things done. Just like I've experienced over the years, ourstaff, clients and company will be empowered to grow as a directresult of Stacy's great leadership. She knows our operations insideand out, and our credit unions already love her.”

Augustine managed the NWCUA's government relations, compliance, communications,public relations, and strategic planning functions for nearly 20years. Her career in credit unions began with the $947million Unitus Community Credit Union, headquartered inPortland, Ore. Augustine's father, Tom, served as the president/CEOof the Oregon Credit Union League for 20 years.

Augustine received her bachelor's degree from Pacific LutheranUniversity and her law degree from the University of NotreDame.
