The SECU Foundation has helped celebrate the opening of thefourth teacher housing complex it has supported across NorthCarolina.

The Echo Ridge Teacher Housing Complex in Raeford, N.C., wasbuilt with the help of an interest-free loan from SECU members through the SECUFoundation, the charitable arm of the $26.5 billion State EmployeesCredit Union in Raleigh, N.C.

The 24-unit complex will provide convenient, affordable housing for new and current teachers andwas built through a partnership with the Partners for Hoke CountyPublic Schools Education Foundation, SECU said.

“We are proud to unite with the Partners for Hoke County PublicSchools Education Foundation in this initiative – one that willmake a positive impact on Hoke County's growing school system andthe community for years to come,” Shirley Bell, SECU Foundationboard member said at the ribbon cutting ceremony last week.

Don Steed, president of Partners for Hoke County PublicSchools Education Foundation, said, “Echo Ridge will help bringstability to our teaching positions and will also provide aneconomic boost to our local communities.”
