The $152 million Wauna Federal Credit Union in Clatskanie, Ore.,has committed to the CUnify core processing platform from OpenSolutions.

The announcement was the first of a planned credit unionconversion for Open Solutions since Fiserv Inc. bought the Connecticut-based operation inJanuary.

The 17,300-member Wauna FCU cited open, member-centricarchitecture and improved efficiencies in its decision, and alsochose additional solutions that include teller operations, businessintelligence, lending, document management and Internet banking,Fiserv said.

“CUnify is different than other systems we reviewed –we'll have access to all the member data we need right at ourfingertips,” Robert Blumberg, president/CEO at WaunaFCU, said in the Fiserv announcement.

Wauna will run the account processing solution in-house and thedocument management and online banking solutions through OpenSolutions' Global Operations Center, the company said in itsannouncement.

Wauna FCU currently uses CU*Answers for home banking and core processing, accordingto the Technology Survey from Callahan & Associates.

Open Solutions had introduced the CUnify platform as a re-written version of itsDNAsme (Small Market Edition) platform in early 2012 and said thenit had about 135 clients using it.

Fiserv said it now provides account processing solutions to morethan 2,400 credit unions but declines to provide numbers forspecific platforms.
