Gwinnett FCU Becomes Peach State FCU

Name Change Reflects Georgia Credit Union's Geographic Growth

The $231 million, 41,200-member Gwinnett Federal Credit Union is now Peach State Federal Credit Union.

The Lawrenceville, Ga., credit union said the name change was made to reflect its growth over the past 20 years from its Gwinnett County base to Barrow, Clarke, DeKalb, Jackson, Oconee and Walton counties.

Peach State FCU President/CEO Marshall Boutwell said 26,000 of its members now live outside Gwinnett County.

“The name Peach State not only acknowledges our entire membership base, but it also allows for future growth without geographic constraints,” Boutwell said in the 52-year-old credit union’s announcement about the name change.

He said Peach State FCU’s commitment to member service and local schools will not change. “Our underlying dedication to education is part of our foundation.”
