The Delaware Credit Union League said Wednesday the state’s 27 credit unions did not report any damage despite as little as 20 miles from southern New Jersey where Hurricane Sandy landed Monday night and caused so much destruction.
“All credit unions were closed on Monday due to the state of emergency declared by the governor,” said Jane Bailey, executive vice president of DCUL in New Castle.
“The League contacted many of our credit unions on Tuesday and found that about one-third had reopened for business either in the morning or early afternoon. All credit unions were back to the business of serving their members on Wednesday.”
DCUL’s Volunteer Leadership Conference, scheduled for Nov. 2-4, will be held. However, some road closings may necessitate attendees to take alternate routes to Ocean City, the league said.
