Amplify FCU President/CEO Recognized As One of Austin’s Best Executives

Paul Trylko, president/CEO of the $596 million Amplify Federal Credit Union of Austin, Texas was recently recognized as one of the area’s best CEOs by the Austin Business Journal.

A winner in the non-profit category, Trylko was among six central Texas CEOs who were honored for a strong record of innovation, outstanding performance and leadership, and roles in the philanthropic, civic or political arenas.

Trylko led the successful transformation of the credit union from the IBM Texas Employees Federal Credit Union to Amplify FCU in the early 2000s. Since then, Amplify FCU has expanded its branch network, membership, scope of services and technology.

In 2011, on the heels of the global financial crisis, Trylko led Amplify to the most successful year in its 45-year history. The credit union earned revenue equal to 300% of the year’s goal, attained the best net interest margin in the Austin credit union market and grew member deposits by nearly $20 million.

He also reinstated employee profit sharing for the first time in seven years and led the credit union to make its largest single-year investment ever in giving back to the Austin community.

Trylko also has shown dedication to industry organizations such as the Texas Credit Union League, which he currently chairs.  He recently traveled to Poland to represent Texas credit unions at the World Council of Credit Unions annual meeting and journeyed to Brazil to represent Texas as part of a credit union exchange program through which Amplify hosted a group from Brazil last year.

“Starting his career as a bank teller, Paul has a true understanding of the credit union system,” said Willie Everett, chair of Amplify FCU’s board of directors. “What makes Paul successful as a CEO is his ability to recognize trends and embrace change, and he is not afraid to take risks. We are excited that the community has recognized Paul and Amplify’s success, and we are proud to have him as our CEO.”

In addition to the “Best CEO” award, Amplify FCU was also recognized by the Austin Chamber of Commerce with the Customer Service Award at the 2012 Greater Austin Business Awards in August. That award honored Amplify FCU as an organization dedicated to outstanding customer service and satisfaction in all aspects of sales and service.
