Navy Federal to Open California Branch No. 32

The $49.3 billion Navy Federal Credit Union said it planned to open its 32nd branch in California on Monday in Mission Viejo.

The credit union’s new branch will serve approximately 8,700 Department of Defense, military and civilian members and their families in Orange County, the 4 million-member credit union said.

“I’m very excited to be joined by the Mission Viejo Chamber of Commerce at the grand opening of our branch and proud to be a part of Navy Federal Credit Union as a whole,” said David Inglis, branch manager. “This is a wonderful, vibrant military community that we look forward to serving.”

Virginia-based Navy Federal said it now has 224 branches worldwide and more than 10,000 employees.

The credit union said it also has set Oct. 13 as its next twice-annual Navy SHRED-eral shredding day to help members and non-members protect their identities. Up to four boxes of personal documents will be shredded for free at a record 53 branches in 15 states and the District of Columbia this year, the credit union said.
